Groenfontein Toy Project
We are now selling the Groenfontein Toy Project’s creations online! This is a community based initiative for unemployed women of the Groenfontein Valley in the Karoo, South Africa. The project is lead by Renee and Paul Ledger and their aim is to provide these woman a steady income to help support their families. As well as teaching a skill that can be taken forward to other initiatives. Also important to the Ledgers is creating a meaningful and pleasant working environment where the woman’s talents and enthusiasm can be guided in a positive manner.
Mungo Proudly supports this initiative by supplying our own off cut fabric which is used in creative ways to make them pure Mungo! We love receiving new stock from Groenfontein. Each toy has its own quirky personality and really is a one of a kind creation. We could sit for hours deciding on which is our favorite!
Head over to mungo.co.zato shop online. As they are handmade and all unique it is a bit of a pot luck draw of what you get. Trust us, they are all delightful! However, if you do require certain colourways you may email us and we will get back to with our selection.
