Mungo Linen Pyjamas | At Home with my Ayanda
We sat down with Cape Town-based artist, Amy Ayanda to discuss her personal style, and what comfort means to her. She shared her thoughts on the newest addition to our loungewear collection: the Mungo Linen Pyjamas.
What are your thoughts on the Mungo Linen Pyjamas?
My initial feeling was that they’re so versatile – I could sleep in them, but also dress them up and wear them out – maybe throw on a waistcoat over and a pair of sliders, and I could pop out in them if I needed to.
How do the Mungo Linen Pyjamas fit into your personal style?
At the moment my style is quite colour-blocky. I’m wearing a lot of black and white. And really loving red. I also like the classic look – jeans and a t-shirt with a shirt over that. I feel like I can definitely wear the Linen Pyjamas out on a warm summer’s day – pair them with a t-shirt and little red cardigan. They work well with what I’ve got in my wardrobe at the moment.
What’s the ultimate feeling of comfort for you?
The ultimate feeling of comfort is definitely when I’m on my couch with a blanket, a cup of tea and a book. The kids are playing, and I’m able to take 20 minutes to sit and get cosy.
What’s your pre-bed wind down ritual?
Getting all of the three kids to sleep first, and then I’ll shower or get straight into my PJs. I’ll settle down somewhere – if not in my bed then on the couch in the lounge. I usually take out my laptop or my book, and just veg out until quite late, about 11pm. Sometimes Dean and I will watch a movie together before bed.
