Mungo Pop Up in Johannesburg

Lots of exciting things are happening this month at Mungo, and one of them is the Mungo Pop-Up at the lively 44 Stanley in Johannesburg, opening on the 27th of May.

44 Stanley is a real Joburg gem, located in Milpark, not too far from the CBD and just 25 minutes from Sandton. It consists of a network of reclaimed and refurbished industrial buildings connected with shady open courtyards planted with olive trees. Although the center has a contemporary designer feel, it still retains its original 1930’s industrial architectural character.

This is not your typical Joburg mall, there are no big chain store brands or artificial lighting in this complex. Instead you’ll find labyrinth of bistros and cafes, studios, artisanal shops, speciality boutiques, galleries and local designers. It’s a great place to explore as it offers a blend of design, food and inspiration and has a real quirky, off-beat character. Craft beer and live music go hand in hand at Stanley Beer House. Dine under olive trees and try some of Joburgs best Pizza and homemade pasta at Il Giardino. Witness the roasting process first hand at Bean There Coffee. It’s busy on weekends so make sure you reserve a table at one of the restaurants.
