Every year, Mungo’s corporate social responsibility program, MOVE, hosts a “Design Your Own Kikoi” workshop with students from Crags Primary School. All proceeds from the winning kikoi go towards funding a teacher at the school. This year’s winner is Jesslyn Windvogel with her “Galaxy” kikoi.
Over 120 swimmers joined our Winter Solstice Swim on June 20th, collectively raising R30,000 for Adopt a Swimmer – a Plett-based NGO committed to offering children from disadvantaged communities the essential life skill of learning to swim.
Every year we invite a class of students from the Crags Primary School for a workshop in textile design & a tour of our mill. Each student is given the chance to design their very own kikoi colourway, from which a winning design is added to our range and sold in aid of funding an additional teacher at the Crags Primary. Now the proud cultivators of bountiful backyard gardens, 7 Plettenberg Bay community members recently completed our ‘Feed your family from your garden’ workshop, an initiative of the Mungo CSR, MOVE.
Partnering with local non-profit initiative, the Crags Eco Nappy project, Mungo recently donated enough bamboo fabric to provide 1200 cloth nappies to the new moms of the Covie & Kurland communities in Plettenberg Bay.
