The Quill Blanket

We are so excited about our latest edition to the Mungo collection of throws and blankets, the Quill Blanket. It is made on our new wide width Dornier loom and for the first time we are able to weave a seamless, full sized blanket, which can span a king sized bed. This is just the beginning of so many more wonderful woven possibilities!

The Quill Blanket is inspired by some of the intricately detailed traditional weaving patterns from the Yoruba people from Nigeria, hand drawn by dye-dipped quill. This delicate cross-hatched, uniform design is dramatically finished with bold striped borders. We have also been experimenting with a number of neutral colour ways (including Fossil, Atlantic Blue and Slate Grey).

This blanket feels as good as it looks, woven from pure cotton grown in Swaziland. This natural fibre offers a luxurious touch and texture. It’s a perfect bedding addition as a warm, yet breathable layer. Available online here.
