The Boma Backstory

The Boma Cloth takes its name from the traditional African ‘boma’ – an enclosure or gathering place to enjoy an outdoor, fireside meal and soak up the open-air atmosphere of a warm and welcoming South African sun or starlit sky.

Drawing from the rich colour combinations that ripple through our natural landscape, the Boma Cloth is our way of bringing a bit of that Southern African sun-baked earthiness into the home.

Customers who bought & used this product shared the below feedback on comfort & quality. If you make a purchase please share your thoughts, we value your feedback!

  1. Best Quality!

I love my boma cloths. initially I thought they were expensive, but they are well worth the money. They dry the dishes, pots etc. beautifully. Nice and big to pick up a large hot pot. Wash very well and look fabulous in the kitchen. I bought everyone a boma for Xmas, as a wrapping for their gifts.

  2. A much used favourite in our kitchen

Bought the cloth for a friend, but decided to add it to our current collection instead. Had to buy another one at NOVA at the Watershed at the V&A. Have most of the earlier colours which are used daily and washed regularly. The quality of the cloth will ensure that they will last a long time. And I can order more if needed. I prefer the brighter colours so went for Truffle this time.

  4. Still look great after a year!

I bought 2 Boma Cloths a year ago to use in the kitchen and have just been back to buy more. The one year old cloths look just as good as the new ones despite a family of 6. Even the navy hasn’t faded. Well worth the investment!
