Woven with a yarn-dyed cotton warp and viscose chenille weft for a final finish that ensures enduring, vivid colour and a handsome velvety drape.
The Fibre and Feel
These throws marry the softness of cotton with the plush, velvety texture of chenille, giving them their luxurious jewel-toned look and feel.
Our chenille throws have a heavier drape, adding weight and warmth – the perfect extra layer for under the covers, or for cosying up on the couch during the cooler months.
Vivid Colour
Our fibres are yarn-dyed for rich and enduring colour. This involves dyeing the threads before they are woven and finished, a process that ensures strong colour fastness and resistance to fading through sun exposure or washing.
Design Details
The Chenille Throws feature an undulating zigzag in the weave, adding to their rich bejewelled texture and tone.
Like all rare and precious finds, note that there are subtle variations… Whilst the Smokey Quartz, Garnet and Jasper throws have a uniform zigzag design, the Citrine has an additional diamond detailing on the borders, as featured on our cotton Bakuba Throw.
Once-off – The Backstory
Being an independent mill making our way in this world gives us a lot of autonomy.
When we feel like experimenting with weaves and colours we can and we do. Our colours are derived from a combination of yarn availability, personal preference and creative flare. Weaves are adapted from designs in the library of antique pattern books that Stuart Holding has been collecting for over 50 years. And the possibilities are infinite.
There are only a few of these gems in existence.
