Linen Scarf, woven from the finest Italian-spun threads on antique Ruti looms at the Mungo Mill.

One of a kind

The unique feature of our antique looms is their shuttles. Inside each shuttle lies the yarn-wound pirn, which carries the weft threads across the warp. Pirns are loaded onto the shuttles via a magazine, before being fed onto the loom.

In the case of the Linen Scarf, the pins have been randomly loaded. This play is what gives the garment its unusual appeal, creating a unique combination of colours in the weft.

The result is that no two scarves are alike, and each one bears the creative hand of the weaver.

Finished with a true selvedge, a self-finished, non-fraying edge particular only to shuttle looms.

A short eyelash fringe completes the look.

For the love of linen

Flax yarn has an unmatched breathability. Cosy in summer, yet lightweight and breathable in summer.

Linen’s natural crushed creases add texture and charm. With a handle that maintains its integrity with wear.

  1. Lovely colourful linen scarf.

Love all of Mungo’s products, I initially bought a scarf as a gift for a friend, became envious and ordered one for myself later. Lovely colourful linen scarf.

  2. Happy wife.

This is a very lovely scarf. Or at least so my wife tells me. I’m not a scarf expert, I only own one that my wife bought for me and it is definitely not as nice as this scarf. I bought it for her because I know she likes stripes and the colour blue. This scarf had both of those things. It is also made by Mungo and I know she likes their products because there are fancy Mungo towels all over our house. I’m sure we have blown the towel budget but that is another story. This story is about a scarf, one that my very fashionable wife has worn multiple times since she got it and every time she wears it, she strikes a pose and says “Don’t you like my scarf?”. I nod obviously because I bought it.

It’s a good scarf. Buy one.
