The Lisburn Linen fabric is inspired by antique french sacking material. Woven with a cotton weft and linen warp on our refurbished Ruti shuttle looms from the 1960s. One of the key characteristics that differentiates the vintage shuttle looms from more modern weaving machinery is their ability to weave a true selvedge (a self-finished edge that prevents the fabric from fraying or unraveling). We think the selvedge is an iconic feature on the Lisburn Linen and have left it exposed on the cushion covers as an aesthetic detail.
