Introducing the newest addition to the Kamma Bed Linen range: the Melange. Lending its name from the French for ‘mix’, the Melange has a unique speckled appearance, and draws from the rugged natural tones of chalk and stone.
The flecked finish is achieved by first stock dyeing the fibres, which are then mixed to attain the desired colour, before being sent for spinning. The result is a unique colour and texture, without the need for a complicated weave construction.
And to add a playful yet sophisticated touch to your bedding, we’ve woven the Melange in a check design too – now available in duvet covers and pillowcases. Mungo tip? Mix and match to create a modern setting.
Mungo linen has a characteristically light and crisp finish, with a breathable weave that keeps you cool in summer and warm in winter. With each wash, your linen will grow stronger, yet naturally becoming more yielding to the touch. While the strong construction of Mungo linen ensures its longevity, the low elasticity means it won’t bend or twist out of shape.
Our linen is also compact finished – a process which presses the fibres closely together, closing up the weave construction and resulting in long-lasting linen with a crisp feel.
Mungo is proudly one of the few remaining linen weavers in South Africa. Our linen yarn is sourced from Linificio e Canapificio Nazionale, an Italian company with a commitment to quality and sustainability that matches our own. From Italy, the yarn wings its way to the Mungo Mill in Plettenberg Bay, where it is woven and finished in the CMT department.
Our Kamma Linen Pillowcases are finished with a double stitch border detail. Available in standard and king pillow sizes. Sold as a pair!
Your Mungo purchase contributes towards our CSR initiative; we commit to donating 1% of our annual turnover to projects that uplift and empower the Plettenberg Bay community in which our production process is based.
